Appointment of Executive Headteacher

 Mrs Sarah Moore

The selection panel recently interviewed Mrs Sarah Moore for the position of Executive Headteacher. Mrs Moore is currently a Headteacher in Nottinghamshire, and was recommended to us by two education consultants.

Following a visit to both schools three weeks ago Mrs Moore then submitted a formal application. Once again the interview process was a very rigorous one. We benchmarked Mrs Moore against the challenging criteria set out in the job description and personal specification for this role. She provided evidence of the highest professional standards, a real passion for the role and was an immediate hit with both children and staff. We also received outstanding references outlining her success and contribution within the schools in which she has been Headteacher and within the wider education sector. Mrs Moore is also a National Leader of Education. The unanimous recommendation of the selection panel was to offer Mrs Moore the post of Executive Headteacher and I am delighted to confirm that she has accepted. The governors ratified the appointment and believe they have found a real talent to replace Mrs Edwards.

Protocol dictates that the current Headteacher plays no part in the recruitment of their replacement and I can confirm that this was the case with this appointment. Mrs Edwards played no part in the proceedings and Mrs Moore has been successful based solely on her own performance. This is particularly important in this case because Mrs Moore is in fact a daughter of Mrs Edwards!

We have allowed a little flexibility on Mrs Moore’s start date which will be no later than 1st January 2016.  If her present school can recruit a replacement by 30th April, her start date will be 1st September. Mrs Edwards will obviously stay on until Mrs Moore can start.

Mrs Edwards has spoken to the children in school to update them.

I am sure you are all looking forward to meeting Mrs Moore. I know she wants to spend time getting to know all pupils, parents/carers, families and friends when she starts, and everyone at both schools is very excited about this new chapter in the life of our fantastic schools.
