Outdoor learning

We have had a very busy summer holiday. During the summer break, new Outdoor Learning Environments were built in the KS1 playground which means that Year 1 and Year 2 now have new areas to learn and play in.

When the children returned to school, their faces lit up with excitement. Outdoor learning provides memorable learning experiences and helps children to make sense of the world around them by putting their learning into a meaningful context. The new outdoor learning environments consist of two areas, one for Year 1 and one for Year 2. They include water and sand play, a decked stage, play den for role play, musical instruments, beautiful wooden tables for working on and the most amazing Forest Story Playhouse. Bourne Abbey believe that every child should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development. We are all so excited for the adventures to be had in our new areas.
