Family Learning – Visit to Bourne Fire Station.

All the children had the chance to be little Firefighters during the visit learning about the very special job Firefighters do.

We began the tour learning about the importance of the Firefighter’s protective clothing and then it was the turn of one of the parents to wear the fire suit, helmet, mask and gloves. Next we went to see the different tools and equipment which are kept on a fire engine, the children were surprised that this included a boat! Then it was time for the children to have a turn sitting in the fire engine and then finally to use the fire hose to spray water, which the children had a splashing time doing! The firefighters made the experience very informative and explained about fire safety. This was a memorable trip not only for the children but for everyone. A huge thanks to everyone a Bourne Fire Station.
