Africa Day 2017

Pupils dressed in red, green and black (the colours of the Kenyan flag) and Reception pupils dressed as their favourite African animals.

They then spent the day learning about Africa and organising games and activities to raise money for the school. Activities included art and mask making, fruit inspired food activities, tombolas, slushy making, cake sales, sponges in the stocks and water bombs to name but a few!

Luckily for the pupils taking part in the wet high jinks the sun shone all day! Terry Westwood from The Friends of Nyansakia Charity visited and was overwhelmed by the pupils’ enthusiasm and compassion for those who are less well-off than themselves. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and Rose (Y6) summed it all up by saying ‘I can’t believe how much money we have raised on our stall for our friends in Nyansakia.’
