KS2 Cross Country Champions!

It was a beautiful autumnal day and the children were very excited and looking forward to competing.  For the majority of our year 3 and 4 children this was their first cross country run and a lot of them were feeling very nervous.  Despite these nerves the children showed real determination and commitment and put in some fantastic individual performances.

This is a team event however, with the positions of the top 5 runners being taken into account.  Sixteen local schools took part and were divided into categories depending on the number of children in the school.

Bourne Abbey were in the large schools competition and had a very successful day.  The year 5&6 girls team won the competition coming away with the winner’s trophy and gold medals and the year 5&6 boys, year 3&4 boys and Year 3&4 girls all finished in second place, winning the silver medals.

A fantastic performance for all the children who took part!  Well done!
