St John’s Ambulance First Aid Workshops

On the 20th June, a representative from St John’s ambulance visited the schools to teach the children basic first aid skills. The children learnt all about the primary survey, using DR ABC. They were then shown how to complete the survey and put someone into the recovery position. All the children had an enjoyable but educational time, practising the skills they had been taught on each other. The workshops have given the children confidence to do the right thing if they are ever in a situation where they need to save a life. The children were quoted saying, ‘The workshop was educational and helped us know how to save a life by putting someone in the recovery position. We now feel more confident about saving someone’s life.’
