Deeping Swimming Gala

Four teams of pupils attended the annual Bourne and Deeping Swimming Gala on Tuesday 3rd November.  For most of the children this was one of their first experiences of swimming in a gala and there was a lot of nervous excitement.  The pupils were given the opportunity to swim a 25m length of the pool either in an individual race or in the very exciting – and loud- relay race.

Teams consisted of 6 girls and 6 boys in two different age categories.  All the children swam really well and tried their very hardest. Particular congratulations must go to Jessica, Ellie, Tiffany, Megan, Callum, Logan, Tom, Donovan, Oliver, Leona and Megan who all won their races.

In the team competitions, the year 5 and 6 girls’ teams did fantastically well and finished in first place.  The year 3 and 4 girls’ team were winning at the half way point and narrowly finished in second place and the year 5 and 6 boys’ team and the year 3 and 4 boys team both finished in 3rd position.

Well done to all the children who took part on the day!
