Key Stage 1 Sports Day

Despite a few worries about the British Summer weather, KS1 pupils at Bourne Abbey C of E Primary Academy were able to take part in their Olympic themed sports afternoon on Thursday 30th June.  The ‘BAlympic’ games saw each class adopt an Olympic nation and take part in a series of events including javelin, hurdles and fetch the medals shuttle run.  The weather held and all the pupils and watching parents/carers enjoyed the exciting sprint and crazy obstacle races.  There were cheers aplenty as everyone did their best and most of all did themselves proud!  Well done KS1!

The Reception ‘Little Olympics’ had countries from Brazil, Canada and Greece competing in many fun sporting activities.  The children were so engrossed in their running they continued on past the finish and into the next race along the track – enthusiastic and committed to the end!  In our Carnival Race we dressed in garlands and boppers before picking up our Olympic torch and running the end to enoy the party in Rio.
