Tractor Visit

The National Farmers Union and the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society have been working together to bring a tractor into Lincolnshire primary school playgrounds and the children in Reception classes were more than happy to invite Farmer George with his huge blue tractor to school.

This term the Reception children have been learning about the farm in springtime and this was a great opportunity to see a tractor close up.  Farmer George talked about the jobs that farmers do and shared his knowledge about the crops he grows; wheat, oats, corn and where they end up after harvest – which included a bread tasting treat.

The children had lots of questions to ask Farmer George about his life on the farm.  BUT…..the highlight was when everyone got a turn sitting and pretending to drive the tractor (including the teachers)!  A massive thank you to the National Farmers Union and Farmer George for visiting our school and providing a unique learning experience for the children and to inspire the farmers of the future.
