Admission to School

 Child in Nursery

'Bourne Abbey makes me feel great.'

A child aged 7

The Kindergarten caters for children from 2-4 years of age.  Please find details on this website.  Our School Nursery admits children in the September following their third birthday.  If numbers allow we will admit children whose third birthday falls between 1st September and 31st December.  The children admitted in January will attend Nursery for 10 terms.

The present policy for admissions into school is for all children to have the opportunity to start school in September following their fourth birthday to enable six full terms in the Reception classes.  Admission information such as personal details, including emergency telephone contact numbers and medical problems are recorded.  Please ensure that these details are kept up to date in the School Office.  Copies of the Admission Policy for School and Nursery are available from school or click on the link below.

Parent/Carers of children about to start school are given the opportunity to visit the Nursery and Reception classes to meet the class teachers, Phase Leaders and Headteacher.  Open days for prospective parents/carers and children are held twice a year.  Dates of these can be obtained from the School Office as well as being published on this website and in the local newspapers.
