Term 6 - Thankfulness and Humility

Our Christian Value in Term 6 is Thankfulness and Humility and through Collective Worship, the children will reflect on how they can be empathetic and sympathetic to the experiences of others. Children will be reminded that everyone can ask for help and everyone can receive help from others. Last year in Term 6 our Christian Value was Thankfulness and the children will be encouraged to continue to live out this Christian Value by reflecting on how thankful they are for the opportunity to help others and be helped by others.

Jesus was both servant and king. He demonstrated this through His life, death and resurrection. Jesus taught his disciples what it means to be truly humble. Christians believe that they can serve God by demonstrating humility through their attitudes and actions.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Ephesians 4:2

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”

       James 4:10

“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”

       1 Peter 3:8
